Sustainability and Environment
About this Course
The Sustainability and Environmental program will help students learn about the interdependence between natural ecosystems and human beings. Students will gain an understanding of critical environmental issues (water quality, air quality, land quality), waste treatment technologies, recycling techniques, and sustainable resource management.
There are environmental problems that affect the economy, health, and well-being of the community. By understanding these concepts, students will become informed about their personal responsibilities for protecting the environment, as well as be empowered to make informed decisions about their future.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the course, learners will have acquired the following competencies:
- The ability to articulate important key concepts associated with sustainability and relate them to their own life and work.
- The ability to identify the major sources and impacts of Air, Water, and Land Pollution.
- Knowledge about methods for treating waste material, recycling systems, and best practice.
- To be able to assess the environmental degradation of the planet.
- Understanding of ways to protect natural resources and promote sustainability.
