Use of Project Management Skills in the Real World

Shane, an EPD student in the Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, successfully planned and coordinated a golf event at Topgolf as part of his Project Management course.

The goal of the event was to give students, faculty, and staff (all of whom participated) an opportunity to socialise and enjoy each other’s company while competing in a fun and friendly atmosphere. This allowed participants to connect, relax, and demonstrate their teamwork skills in a casual and enjoyable environment.

It reflects how Shane’s project management skills can be put into practice. The hands-on approach taken in this program allows students to understand how to manage projects from a practical standpoint rather than just a theoretical one. By working on projects similar to this one, students can learn about planning, coordination, and execution through actual project work, which will help them develop the necessary skills to effectively manage projects in real-life situations.
